WPL 2025: UP Warriorz’s list of retained and released players ahead of auction

On Thursday, November 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the list of players retained and released by the five Women Premier League (WPL) franchises.  While there were some surprise omissions from the side ahead of WPL 2025 auction, the UP Warriorz retained their core group, including the likes of Alyssa Healy, Grace Harris, Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, among others.

A total of 14 players were retained by the UP-based franchise, along with some Indian uncapped players also finding a place in the list. Along with the notable players including their captain and several others, the franchise also retained the services of Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone, who were among the top performers for the team in the 2024 edition, where they finished at fourth place, missing out on playoffs qualification.

Retained Players: Alyssa Healy (C), Kiran Navgire, Shweta Sehrawat, Deepti Sharma, Chamari Athapaththu, Grace Harris, Sophie Ecclestone, Tahila McGrath, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Saima Thakor, Anjali Sarvani, Gouher Sultana, Poonam Khemnar, Uma Chetry, Vrinda Dinesh.

Released Players: Laxmi Yadav, Parshavi Chopra, S Yashasri, Lauren Bell

Purse Remaining: INR 3.9 Crore

Remaining Slot: 3 Players
