WPL 2025: RCB’s list of retained and released players ahead of auction

All the five franchises have announced the list of their retained and released players for the upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2025 on Thursday, November 7, ahead of the auction. Now, all the teams will be looking to make a strong squad in the WPL auction. According to the rules, each team can have a maximum 18 players in their squad, with a limit of six overseas players. Each team was given a budget of INR 18 Crore, and majority of which was also used in player retention. 

Talking about Royals Challengers Bengaluru, the defending champions have retained all these best players ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. RCB won their first-ever T20 trophy in WPL 2024, and will be looking to repeat the triumph in the upcoming edition. However, four slots are left to be filled by RCB in the upcoming auction, and they aim to make a stronger squad for the WPL 2025. They will come into the auction with a remaining purse of INR 3.25 Crore.

Retained players: Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry (overseas), Richa Ghosh, Sabbineni Meghana, Shreyanka Patil, Georgia Wareham (overseas), Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh, Sophie Devine (overseas), Sophie Molineux (overseas), Ekta Bisht, Kanika Ahuja, Kate Cross (overseas), Danielle Wyatt-Hodge (overseas)

Released players: Disha Kasat, Indrani Roy, Nadine de Klerk, Shubha Satheesh, Shraddha Pokarkar, Simran Bahadur, Heather Knight

Purse left for WPL 2025 auction: ₹3.25 crore
