Will Eden Gardens host IPL 2025 home games of KKR? – Check Here

The iconic Eden Gardens is set to undergo renovations ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be hosted in India and Sri Lanka. With that, there were doubts about whether Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play their home games in the IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens, but according to reports, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) sent a letter to KKR management, confirming the availability of the stadium to host their matches next year.

As per the report from RevSportz, while CAB have made the Eden Gardens available for Kolkata Knight Riders to play their home matches of IPL next season, there is no indication about when the stadium renovation for T20 World Cup 2026 will commence. It is understood that CAB are looking to build two new dressing rooms at the Eden Gardens opposite the Dr BC Roy Club House apart from increasing the capacity, while the deadline for construction is December 2025.

A under construction stadium in Agartala is being considered as second home for KKR: Reports

In the meantime, it has been revealed that a stadium, which is currently under construction in Agartala, is being considered as a second home for KKR for the IPL 2025 season, as per the report published in the PTI. The Secretary of Tripura Cricket Association (TCA), Subrata Dey, there has been an indication from IPL chairman Arun Dhumal about the new stadium hosting IPL games of KKR next season if its completed by 2025.

Subrata Dey was quoted as saying, “IPL chairman Arun Kumar Dhumal recently visited the proposed international stadium at Narsingarh on the outskirts of the state capital. He said if the stadium is ready before February next year, it could be made second home ground of KKR or some else other state will get the benefit.”

The TCA Secretary also spoke about expedite the work at the stadium, to get it constructed a month before the IPL 2025 season, to have the best possible chance to hosting the matches of the tournament, He remarked, “Since it is a golden chance to host IPL matches at the proposed stadium, we have summoned a reputed construction agency to expedite work and get it completed by February 2025. The TCA will review the construction work and if the agency fails to meet the deadline, we will terminate it and engage a new firm to complete the remaining work.”
