Pakistan can beat India in Tests on…: Wasim Akram’s BOLD comment after India’s 0-3 series loss against New Zealand

The two-time World Test Championship (WTC) runners-up, Team India has been in hot waters after their first-ever series whitewash at home in Test cricket. On Sunday, November 3, the Men in Blue went down against their Kiwi opponents 0-3, losing the third and final Test by 25 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This 0-3 drubbing hasn’t gone well in the Indian camp as several cricketers made shocking comments. Among many was former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram and former England captain Michael Vaughan. While Akram’s comments came in relation with Pakistan, Vaughan also spoke of his desire to see India play Pakistan in bilateral series.

Pakistan can now beat India on turners: Vaughan during AUS vs PAK 1st ODI

The former cricketers who have a part of the commentary panel in the ongoing three-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan, made some bold comments, claiming that Pakistan can beat India in Test cricket if they resume bilateral series. During the commentary session in the Australia versus Pakistan first ODI in Melbourne, Vaughan said, “I would want to see a Test series between India and Pakistan” before adding that the Men in Green can beat the Men in Blue on turners while pointing the struggles of the Indian team in tackling spin in the recently-concluded Test series against New Zealand.

Just in time, the legendary Pakistan cricketer who was also joined in the commentary replied, “It will be massive. It will be good for the game, for two cricket-crazy nations.” He also agreed with Vaughan’s comments that Pakistan has a chance to beat India. “Pakistan have a chance to beat India in Tests now on a spinning track. They have been hammered by New Zealand 3-0 at home,” the Pakistan legend added.

It is to be that India, who have had a brilliant record at home in Test cricket, finally suffered their first-ever series loss on home soil in 12 years. Moreover, it was also their first-ever Test series clean sweep in 25 years. On the other hand, if we talk of Pakistan, they have had recent success on spinning tracks, particularly during their 2-1 series win over England.
