Saari streak tutengi is baar!: Fans react after India’s batting collapse in third Test vs New Zealand

India have found themselves in a tricky situation on day three of the ongoing third Test against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The hosts have already lost the series and are looking to save a clean sweep at home. India had a good start to the Test match as they took a lead of 28 runs in the first innings, with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant scoring half-centuries. However, India have now again reached a situation where the hosts have lost their key batters cheaply while chasing a target of 147 runs in the third Test.

Coming to chase the winning total, India lost their first wicket in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma (11 off 11) at the score of 13 runs. After that, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli also fell cheaply, followed by the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal. India lost five wickets at the score of just 29 runs in just 7.1 overs. After that, Rishabh Pant took charge of the innings.

Rishabh Pant comes in rescue after disastrous start

After India lost five wickets for 29 runs, Rishabh Pant came to the rescue for the hosts as the left hander scored 64 runs off 57 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. He also added 42 runs for the sixth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja and took India closer to the target. However, Pant got out when India needed 41 runs to win. After Pant’s dismissal, the Indian batting order started to collapse again as the hosts were bowled out for 121 runs, losing the match by 25 runs. This was also the first time that India have suffered a whitewash in a Test series at home.
