WATCH: WWE HOF Rob Van Dam arrives to NXT; gets himself booked for Philly next week

On the newest edition of WWE NXT from the Performance Center in Orlando, the Halloween Havoc fallout show, Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam (RVD) appeared in a backstage segment with General Manager Ava, talking about next week’s show in Philadelphia. RVD managed to convince Ava to book him for NXT next Wednesday, which will be going live on the CW Network from the iconic ECW Arena, now known as the 2300 Arena, where the Hall of Famer made a big name for himself during his illustrious career.

After showing up on camera alongside Ava on this week’s NXT, Rob Van Dam commented on fellow ECW legend Bubba Ray Dudley’s unwillingness to take up a spot of a young rising superstar on the brand while teaming up with champion Trick Williams to go up against Ethan Page and Ridge Holland. The whole F’N show noted that while Bubba Ray Dudley might not want to get himself booked on the former ECW Arena show next week, he knew about someone who did before doing his famous “RVD” taunt, to let Ava know about his intentions.

Rob Van Dam has made sporadic appearances in WWE in recent years

Later on the show, Rob Van Dam was spotted on camera once again, watching Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee brawling in the backstage area. As the officials separated the two NXT superstars with General Manager Ava nearby, RVD stated that he had an idea about what to do on next Wednesday’s show at the former ECW Arena before reiterating that he will see them next week.

In the last few years, Rob Van Dam has made sporadic appearances in the WWE, getting immortalised in the Hall of Fame, announcing picks on the draft show earlier this summer, apart from being there at the last month’s episode on SmackDown. In recent times, RVD has also wrestled for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on a multiple occasion, but he hasn’t been a full-time wrestler unlike his heyday in the WWE.

Apart from Rob Van Dam, WWE has also announced the likes of Francine and Dawn Marie for next week’s NXT at the former ECW Arena, while it is expected that Bubba Ray Dudley will work the show as well.
