Nadal, known as ‘King of Clay’, will play his final tournament during the Davis Cup in November in Malaga. During the tournament, Spain will face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals between November 19 to November 21. This will be Nadal’s first appearance on the court since the Paris Olympics 2024. In the emotional video, the Spaniard said, “I’m here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis. The reality is that it has been some difficult years, these last two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations. It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make.”
