Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024: India to open campaign against Malaysia; final to be played on November 20

On Tuesday, October 8, Hockey India announced the schedule of the upcoming Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024. Matches of the 10-day tournament will be held at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar, from November 11 to 20. In the eighth edition, six teams will feature in the tournament, including People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and India.  

India, who will enter the tournament as defending champions, will begin their tournament against Malaysia on November 11. India lifted the title last year in Ranchi, beating Japan. After South Korea, India and Japan are the most successful teams with two titles each.

Speaking of the format, all teams will play each other in a round-robin format in the group stage and the top four teams will make the semi-finals. After the completion of the group stage, the knockouts will kick off from November 19 with the final scheduled to be played on November 20.
