Young Indian batter, Musheer Khan on Saturday, September 28 was involved in a road accident while he was travelling from Azamgarh to join his team ahead of the Irani Cup 2024 in Lucknow. However, the details of the accident and the injuries sustained by the talented batter are still awaited, it is to be noted that the 19-year-old was travelling with his father-cum-coach, Naushad Khan from Azamgarh to Lucknow.
Khan’s injury comes as a blow for Mumbai as he will now miss the Irani Cup tie against the Rest of India at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from October 1-5. According to several reports, Khan has sustained serious neck injury as the car tragically flipped four to five times on the road.

With reported neck injury, the 19-year-old is expected to be out of action for a period of six weeks to three months, depending on the severity of the injury and the recovery process. “He didn’t travel with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably travelling from Azamgarh, with his father, to Lucknow when the accident happened,” a source told TOI. Moreover, there hasn’t been official announcement from the Mumbai Cricket Association about the accident.
Khan has been having a brilliant run off late in his career, having scored 716 runs in nine matches, including three centuries and one fifty. He has also taken eight wickets at the economy of 26.87.
