Star Indian bowler Akash Deep convinced Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to take DRS in the second Test against Bangladesh, which eventually resulted in their favour. Notably, India locked horns with Bangladesh in the second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Friday, September 27. The match started with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma winning the toss and inviting rivals to put score on the board first.
India got off to a favourable start as star seamer Akash Deep drew Bangladesh’s first blood in the form of opener Zakir Hasan. Akash Deep made an impact in the first session of the game as he scalped crucial wickets of Zakir Hasan as well as Shadman Islam. Islam’s wicket came after Akash Deep convinced a hesitant captain Rohit Sharma to take the review with only three seconds left on the clock. The Indian pacer was confident in his appeal, and urged the Indian skipper to take the review.
Sharma was hesitant for the same and he even consulted with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant before signalling for the same. However, his expressions soon changed as the review showed all three reds, confirming that the delivery hit the leg stump. Rohit Sharma came up with a priceless reaction after the DRS review went into India’s favour. As of writing, Bangladesh were at 55-2 in 17.2 overs.
