The Indian team, including the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, among others landed in Kanpur on Tuesday, September 24 ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh. The Rohit Sharma and Co. received a rousing reception on arrival in Kanpur, videos of which are making rounds on social media.
In one of the videos on their arrival at the team hotel in Kanpur, star Indian batter, Virat Kohli got into the limelight after he was forced to turn down a handshake request from a hotel staff. Kohli, who received a bouquet of flowers on his arrival, dropped a cheeky comment when a staff member obliged him for a handshake.
With a large gathering surrounding the Indian team as they checked in, one of the staff members handed a bouquet to Kohli while another one opted for a handshake. Meanwhile, Kohli dropped a cheeky comment as he walked away with a smirk, turning down the handshake. “Sir, do hi haath hain (I have two hands only),” Kohli said while the other individual was left grinning.
It is to be noted that Virat Kohli did not have a great start on his return to red-ball cricket. In the first Test, the batting stalwart registered scores of six and 17 in the two innings. While he will be hoping to register a good score in the upcoming Test, it is to be seen that Kohli has just played one Test at the Green Park in Kanpur, where he registered 27 runs across the two innings in 2021.
Team India eyes clean sweep against Bangladesh after dominant win in Chennai Test
