Roger Federer is regarded as one of the best tennis players of all-time. With 103 titles to his name, Federer has a record for being the number one player for 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks. He has been the number one player in the world at the end of the year five times in his career. Roger Federer also has one gold and one silver medal to his name at the Olympic Games. He bid adieu to professional tennis during the Laver Cup on September 23, 2022.
Coming to the court for one last-time, Roger Federer paired up with his longtime friend and rival Rafael Nadal in his last professional match as a tennis player for Team Europe. However, the duo suffered 4-6 7-6 11-9 loss to Team World’s Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock. At the age of 41 years, Roger Federer acknowledged the crowd after the match, and said goodbye to the sport. After his retirement, Federer was honoured at Wimbledon on Centre Court in 2023, and he was also recognised at the 2023 Laver Cup in Vancouver after completing his one year retirement from tennis.

Roger Federer had a legendary career in tennis, and he went on to feature amongst the greatest tennis players of all-time. He won 20 Grand Slam titles to his name, along with registering 1251 wins in his career. He earned his first-ever Grand Slam win at the Australian Open in 2000 after defeating then number 2 Michael Chang. Federer’s first-ever Grand Slam singles title came at the 2003 Wimbledon after defeating Andy Roddick in the semi-final followed by a win against Mark Philippoussis in the final.
