The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, September 22 announced India’s squad for the second Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh. The Men’s Selection Committee has picked up same 16-member squad as named for the opening Test in Chennai. Notably, the second Test is scheduled to be played from September 27 till October 1 at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
The squad announcement came just moments after India registered historic feat, extending their head-to-head lead to 12-0 against their near neighbours, with two matches ending in draw. The side will continue with the same squad with Jasprit Bumrah continuing to play after earlier reports emerged that he might be rested seeing the long Test calendar ahead.
Moreover, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Yash Dayal retained their places in the 16-member squad despite not featuring in the opening Test in Chennai. Although, it has to be seen who will feature in the XI as India eyes to consolidate their position at the top of the table in World Test Championships (WTC) rankings.
