WATCH: Rishabh Pant sets Bangladesh’s fielding in first Test; bowler does THIS next

On Saturday, September 21, Indian batters, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant added more to the 308-run lead after Day 2 with both of them scoring 50-plus scores at the time of writing. However, on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test, which is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant was seen bringing up his best as he opted to set the field for the visitors.

Pant, who is often known to bring up his chirpy side while keeping the wickets, in the first session of Day 3 of the first Test, the 26-year-old was seen bringing up a light-hearted moment as he was seen setting the Bangladesh fielding. The incident occurred shortly after the play began on the third day.

Rishabh Pant sets field for Bangladesh; bowler agrees to Pant’s placement

Pant, who was batting in the middle alongside Shubman Gill, saw some confusion among the opposition about where to move the fielder. Just in time, Pant opted to help the Bangladesh skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto as he was heard on the stump mic saying, “Aree idhar aayega ek… bhai, ek idhar, one fielder here, mid-wicket.”

Interestingly, Shanto and the bowler agreed to Pant’s offer as they quickly placed one of the fielders at mid-wicket, video of which is going viral on social media. Moreover, the commentators on air couldn’t help but laugh about Pant’s sense of humour.

It is to be noted that Pant made a return to Test cricket after a gap of over 20 months since his accident in December 2022. While he made 39 runs in the first inning, he resumed his knock in the second innings from 12* and went up to score his first half-century since his return.  Speaking of the ongoing Test, with Shubman Gill (86*) and Rishabh Pant (82*) at the crease, India has taken a considerable lead of 432 runs at Lunch on Day 3.
