Portuguese football great Cristiano Ronaldo came up with a heartwarming celebration after scoring a goal for Al-Nassr against Al-Ettifaq. On September 20, Al Nassr, the Knights of Najd, were up against Al-Ettifaq in another lopsided clash, and handed over their rivals a 3-0 defeat. The game saw Ronaldo continuing his brilliant form as he once again positioned himself on the scoresheet to defeat Steven Gerrard’s side.
After being held out without a goal in the last league game and missing out on their AFC Champions League opener due to illness, Ronaldo was back in the game and bagged a penalty against the rivals to score the opening goal. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid came up with an adorable celebration and was seen holding up three fingers at his son, Junior, who was in the stands.
According to reports by ESPN, Ronaldo counted his goal with those scored by Cristiano Jr in the Al-Nassr’s youth team. The 14-year-old smashed Al-Qadsiah 4-0 earlier in the day. The senior footballer dedicated the win to Al-Nass’s fans after the match on social media, where he wrote, “Great team effort. Big win tonight – this one’s for the fans!”
The goal marked Ronaldo’s 902nd career goal, after celebrating the historic 900-goal mark a few weeks ago. Not only this, but it also gave him eight goals in seven games.
Al-Nassr’s new coach Stefano Pioli made his choice between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after his first game for the Knights of Najd. Notably, Messi and Ronaldo have scored 1700 goals combined. The new Al-Nassr boss made his choice clear and picked his favourite between Ronaldo and Messi. When asked to choose between them, he said, “I think Cristiano Ronaldo is superior to Lionel Messi, he has scored more goals than games.”
On the other hand, an old interview of Carlos Tevez with ESPN Argentina has been going viral, where he explained the differences between Messi and Ronaldo. He said, “Cristiano is totally different to Messi,” explained Tevez (as per One Football). When Leo was starting out, he didn’t touch a gym. But Cristiano was there in the morning, afternoon and evening, all the time.” He added, “Cristiano had to work and prepare himself to be the best, while, for Leo, it comes naturally. Those are the greatest differences that I see between the two best players on the planet. Messi plays another sport. For Messi to score three goals (in any given game) is normal.”
