All three wickets were taken by right-arm pacer Hasan Mahmud. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Batting first, India lost their first wicket in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma at the score of six runs while India had posted only 14 in 5.1 overs. Trying to hit the outside off delivery by Hasan Mahmud, Rohit ended up edging the ball and Shanto made no mistake in grabbing the ball in slips. After that, Shubman Gill also lost his wicket to Mahmud for a duck in the eighth over. A couple of overs later, Hasan Mahmud picked his third wicket as he dismissed Virat Kohli for just six runs and India lost three wickets for 34 runs in 9.2 overs.
