Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz ruled out for three months due to groin injury suffered in Real Sociedad clash

Real Madrid will be without their midfielder Brahim Diaz for a duration of three months. The Spanish giants revealed that Diaz’s medical report confirmed that the 25-year-old suffered a groin injury. Notably, the footballer had suffered the injury during the side’s clash against Real Sociedad, where they had registered a 2-0 win over their counterparts. Diaz was injured in the first half of the match as the side visited San Sebastian at the Anoeta Stadium in the fourth round of La Liga.

He had to be substituted before the half-hour mark of the first half and was replaced by Brazilian striker Rodrygo. As per reports by Xinhua, he had to be replaced by Rodrygo just 24 minutes after encountering pain in his right groin. While the Los Blancos suffered a setback in the clash, the good news is that they have Bellingham and Tchouameni, who are likely to get fit when the side kicks off the Champions League campaign against Stuttgart.

The club released an official statement and revealed the footballer’s physical condition after he underwent initial medical tests. The statement read, “Following tests carried out today on our Brahim Díaz by the Real Madrid medical department, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the abductor longus muscle of his right leg. His progress will be monitored.” As per Fabrizio Romano, the player will undergo tests in one week to get more clarity and is likely to be out of action for at least eight weeks due to the injury.

Talking about Real Madrid, the Spanish side continued their unbeaten run in the La Liga season with a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad. The match saw Kylian Mbappe playing a key role by scoring his third goal in two matches by converting a penalty late in the second half.
