Bengaluru FC will be looking for a memorable outing in the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL) in 2024-25. They will begin their campaign with a match against East Bengal FC at Sri Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium on September 14. Bengaluru FC were last seen playing in the 2024 Durand Cup, where they lost the semi-finals against Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Now, they will be looking to have a dominant season and get their hands on the ISL title for the second time.
Bengaluru FC finished as the runners-up in 2017-18 and were crowned champions in the ISL 2018-19 after defeating FC Goa by 1-0 in the final. However, they had a forgettable season in ISL 2023-24, where they finished in the 10th position on the points table with just five wins in 22 matches. Bengaluru FC picked three players from Mumbai City FC, including Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Alberto Noguera, and Rahul Bheke in the summer transfer window. Gerard Zaragoza, who is manager for Bengaluru FC, also signed Lalthuammawia Ralte and Mohammed Salah from Odisha FC and Punjab FC respectively. Now, Bengaluru FC have a good balance of Indian and foreign players for ISL 2024-25.
Spanish midfielder Pedro Capó has also got a one-year deal from Bengaluru FC ahead of Indian Super League 2024-25. Along with Capo, his countryman Edgar Mendez is also a part of the Karnataka-based franchise for the upcoming season. Mendez has represented several Spanish football clubs including Atletico Ciudad, Betis, Union Deportivo Belilla, and Almeria.
