Taylor Swift, the world-renowned pop star, and her boyfriend, the NFL right end, Travis Kelce showed up together at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for the US Open men’s singles final between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz despite the breakup rumours surrounding them. Swift and Kelce were spotted cozying up on a Sunday night at the Flushing Meadows in New York City in front of thousands of tennis fans in attendance, shutting down the speculation of them splitting up anytime soon.
Notably, the breakup rumours surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did the rounds when a shocking post on Reddit, titled “Comprehensive Media Plan for Travis Kelce’s Public Relations following breakup with Taylor Swift”. The post, reportedly put together by Full Scope, had detailed strategy about how Swift and Kelce are supposed to call it quits on their relationship on a specific date, September 28 to be exact, followed by a pre-written statement about it three days later.
After Full Scope, the PR firm of Travis Kelce slammed the rumours, he made his arrival to attend the US Open final at the Flushing Meadows alongside Taylor Swift. The lovebirds enjoyed a brilliant display of tennis from the world number one, Jannik Sinner of Italy, who went on to defeat the home favourite Taylor Fritz in straight sets in the US Open men’s singles final, to clinch his second Grand Slam of the year after winning the Australian Open earlier this year.
The last period of my career has not been easy: Jannik Sinner
Sinner also became the first Italian to win the US Open men’s singles title at the expense of Fritz with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. The 23-year-old, who had been embroiled in a doping scandal ahead of the last major of 2024, was quoted as saying after the win, as per Times of India, “This title means so much,” who arrived in New York under a cloud after it was revealed he had failed two drug tests but escaped sanction. “The last period of my career has not been easy but I have my team and family who support me,” he added.
“I love tennis but off court there is a life also and I want to dedicate this trophy to my aunt because she is not well and I don’t know how much longer I will have her in my life. She was a very important part of my life and still is. It’s nice to share this with her,” remarked Jannik Sinner about her aunt’s ill health, dedicating the US Open win to her.
