Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan survived an injury scare after getting struck on the neck by a Shamar Springer bouncer in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. On Friday, August 30, Khan, who plays for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the league, got dismissed in a bizarre way against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons after scoring only nine runs.
Notably, during the pursuit of the 169-run target, Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Azam Khan received a bouncer from Shamar Springer, and he was quite late in his attempt to pull it. The ball seemed to hit Azam Khan on his neck via his shoulder before trickling onto his stumps, while he collapsed to the ground before appearing to be in some discomfort.
It led to the team physio of Guyana Amazon Warriors making his way to the field at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, to give Azam Khan some medical attention.

Gudakesh Motie of Guyana Amazon Warriors was declared the player of the match for picking up three wickets for 25 runs in his four-over spell.
