One of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, is set to release on October 25, 2024. Ahead of its official release, Activision is offering players a chance to get a sneak peek through the Open Beta. Check out everything you need to know about participating in the Call of Duty BlackOps 6 Open Beta.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Open Beta Schedule
The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Open Beta will be available in two phases. The first phase of early access runs from August 30 to September 4, 2024. The second Open Beta phase will follow from September 6 to September 9, 2024. Players can test the game for free during the second phase of the Open Beta but will need to pre-order to access the game, starting August 30.
The Open Beta will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC through Battle.net, Microsoft Store, and Steam. Note that platform availability and launch dates may be subject to change.
How to access the COD Black Ops Beta?
To join the Open Beta, players need to pre-order or pre-purchase Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The Beta is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (Battle.net, Microsoft Store, Steam). Players with an active Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console subscription can also access the Beta early.
Pre-order and Beta Codes
If one pre-orders digitally from the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Battle.net, or Steam, he/she doesn’t need a separate code. Just download the Beta when it’s available. If one pre-ordered from a retailer, one should have received a 13-character Beta code. Redeem this code at callofduty.com/betaredeem. If one didn’t get their code or can’t find it, contact the retailer for help.
Multiplayer and Maps
One will be able to play online multiplayer during the beta. The beta will include six core maps and two strike maps from Black Ops 6. At the start, only a few maps will be available, with more added over the weekend. The initial maps are:
- Skyline (core)
- Rewind (core)
- Scud (core)
- Babylon (core)
- Derelict (core)
- Stakeout (core)
- Gala (strike)
- Pit (strike)
During the first Open Beta, players can explore four game modes and reach level 20. In the second Open Beta, the level cap will increase to 30, and two additional maps will be added. New game modes, Gunfight, and Face Off Kill Order will also be available in the second beta.
Players can use custom loadouts, but they’ll need to reach level 4 to unlock this feature. Notably, those who pre-ordered the Vault Edition will not have access to their pre-order guns during the Open Beta.
