Liverpool have reportedly agreed a £10 million deal with Juventus for their Italian winger Federico Chiesa, who has flown to England to complete the move. The shock move to Liverpool for Federico Chiesa also includes a further £2.5 million in add-ons, which is going to be based on the performance of the team.
Notably, under the Thiago Motta regime at Juventus, Federico Chiesa hasn’t been a regular starter, and this is the final year of his current contract with the Italian club. As per the report from ESPN, before his potential move to Liverpool, the 26-year-old was set to go to Barcelona for £11 million earlier this month, but the Catalan giants couldn’t put the deal together due to their financial constraints.
I want to thank the Juventus fans for all the affection over the years: Federico Chiesa
On Wednesday, August 28, the Italian media caught up with Federico Chiesa at an airport, and he said to them, “I’m really happy and ready for this new adventure. I want to thank the Juventus fans, thanks for all the affection over the years, I’ll keep you in my heart, thanks Juventus. I’m really, really happy, we can’t wait, me and my family.”
As per Fabrizio Romano on X, Federico Chiesa has landed in Liverpool this afternoon, and he is going to have the first part of his medical later today. If Liverpool are able to seal the move, then the Italian will be the first signing for new manager Arne Slot who replaced the legendary Jurgen Klopp earlier this summer.
Moreover, during his career at Juventus, Federico Chiesa has made 131 appearances, scoring 32 goals, which includes 10 goals in 37 matches in the recently concluded season.
