Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been away from the cricketing field since the ODI series loss in Sri Lanka in August 2024. Now the Indian team almost have a gap of one month ahead of their next international assignment which is the home Test series against Bangladesh starting from September 19.
Ahead of India’s packed cricketing season, Rohit Sharma was spotted training hard in a viral video along with the assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in a park. The Indian skipper was the highest run scorer for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup and also ended up scoring most runs for Men in Blue in the recently ended ODI series against Sri Lanka.
India to play 10 Test matches in next four months
The Indian cricket team has a heavy Test season ahead where they will play 10 Test matches in the span of four months. India will play a two-match home Test series against Bangladesh, followed by hosting a three-match Test series against New Zealand starting from October 16. After that, India are scheduled to play five Test matches against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy from November 22, 2024 to January 7, 2025.
Between these 10 Tests, India are also scheduled to play 12 T20Is and three ODI matches in the upcoming cricketing season. They will host Bangladesh for three T20Is, South Africa for four T20Is and England for five T20Is and three ODI matches ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
