Delhi Capitals’ star wicketkeeper batter and captain Rishabh Pant shared a social media post where he was seen mimicking a pose by superstar Rajnikanth. Needless to say, the post went viral in no time, but not with the way Pant copied the Indian icon but with its connection with former Indian captain MS Dhoni and IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. Notably, after the Delhi-based franchise parted ways with coach Ricky Ponting, speculations have been going on that they might let go of their skipper Rishabh Pant as well.
The young wicketkeeper batter has been linked with Chennai-based franchise Chennai Super Kings, which was earlier led by MS Dhoni. The speculations gained momentum when Pant set the cricketing world on fire with a single Instagram post. The post had Pant striking the iconic pose by ‘Thalaivar’ Rajnikanth from the movie Kabali. The cricketer captioned the post ‘Thalaiva’ which translates to ‘leader’ or ‘boss’ in Tamil.
Fans link Rishabh Pant’s post to CSK and MS Dhoni
The post shared by Pant got viral in no time, and fans started relating to it with CSK and MS Dhoni. A few years ago, Dhoni had shared the same kind of post, where he was copying Rajnikanth’s post. Fans guessed that Pant might be joining the five-time IPL winning franchise soon.
According to reports, there have been discussions on whether to trade Pant, despite franchise’s director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly wanting him to continue as the captain of DC.
