Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan held on three brilliant catches on his return to red-ball cricket. After being dropped from the BCCI’s central contracts and the Indian nati onal team, Kishan featured in his first game of the 2024 domestic as the captain of Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu Trophy, which kicked off on August 15.
Jharkhand started their Buchi Babu campaign against Madhya Pradesh at the India Cements Limited Cricket Ground in Sankar Nagar. On Day 1, Kishan played his first red-ball match after playing the Test against West Indies on July 20, 2023, at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Leading his state, Kishan put forth a brilliant display of wicketkeeping as he picked three catches and helped restrict M.P at 225 for eight in 89.5 overs at the end of Day 1. Continuing his incredible form, the Mumbai Indians star also picked up his fourth catch on the second day.
After the Buchi Babu Trophy 2024, Ishan Kishan and a host of top Indian cricketers will feature in the Duleep Trophy which kicks off on September 5 in Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh) and Bengaluru. Kishan will play for Team D which features Devdutt Padikkal, Axar Patel and Shreyas lyer, the captain of the side.
