After India’s sole representative in rowing at the Paris Olympics 2024, Balraj Panwar left some hope of a medal after progressing into the repechage round of the men’s singles sculls, the Indian mixed team did not get the start that was expected in shooting. The pair of Ramita Jindal and Arjun Bhabuta and Elavenil and Sandeep rather had a tough start to the day as they struggled to finish in the top four to progress further in the competition and eventually had to bow out of the tournament.
The pair of Ramita – Arjun fell just short of qualification for the medal rounds after finishing sixth at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday, July 27. In the series of 30 shots for both shooters, the pair managed to get a total of 628.7 points. Meanwhile, the second Indian team consisting of Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh ended the campaign on a disappointing note, finishing at 12th place with 626.3 points.
Speaking of their individual points in the team event, while Ramita and Arjun got 314.5 and 314.2 respectively, Elavenil and Sandeep finished with the scores of 312.6 and 313.7.
Meanwhile, China’s team of Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao secured the first place with a score of 632.2, Korea’s pair of Keum Jihyeon and Park Hajun finished second with 631.2 score. While these two will now take on each other in the gold medal match, Kazakhstan and Germany will be action for the bronze medal match.
