Celebrating th e T20 World Cup 2024 in a grand ceremony the Indian team was dancing their hearts out at Mumbai‘s Wankhede Stadium. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the final and ended their 11-year ICC trophy drought in spectacular fashion. After winning the trophy on June 29, Team India had to wait in the West Indies because of a category-4 hurricane.
Then on July 3, the Indian team left Barbados and reached New Delhi on the fourth. In the national capital, Team India interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before jetting off to Mumbai for the grand celebration which included a parade on open-roof buses through streets.
The procession concluded in Wankhede where the Indian team received prize money of INR 125 Crore from the BCCI. After these formalities, the Men in Blue burst into a hilarious dance led by Captain Rohit Sharma and batting great Virat Kohli while others joined in. The clip of this dance has gone viral on social media.

At this ceremony, Virat Kohli spoke about how emotional was Rohit Sharma after the final ended and Team India became the World T20 Champions. He said, “Rohit and I, we’ve been trying this for so long. We always wanted to win a World Cup.”
“Bringing the trophy back to Wankhede is a very special feeling. We have been playing for the last 15 years and this is the first time, I’ve seen Rohit so emotional – he was crying, I was crying, a hug between both of us – I will never forget that day,” Kohli added.
