On Monday, June 24, Harbhajan Singh, the former Indian cricketer, slammed the fans in a brutal repost after receiving brash criticism for his commentary during the T20 World Cup 2024. The 43-year-old is currently a part of the Star Sports Hindi commentary team, providing in-depth insights and analysis about all things T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.
Notably, India are playing some fantastic cricket in the T20 World Cup 2024, staying unbeaten in the tournament with five wins in six matches, including an abandoned contest against Canada due to rain. They are slated to play against Australia at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia, in a Super 8 Group 1 clash, and a win will help them seal a spot in the semifinal stage.
Harbhajan Singh, who has praised the Indian cricket team for their consistent performances in the T20 World Cup 2024, took to his official X account to go after the fans for criticising him for his unique commentary style on a live broadcast for Star Sports. Below are a couple of posts from the former ODI World Cup winner, in which he didn’t hold back himself while giving his piece of mind to the fans.
“Our team has shown exceptional form in the T20 World Cup so far, with every player in the playing 11 contributing significantly. We have been playing our A-game ticking all the boxes. The boys are in great touch, and the confidence is high. If we continue to play with the same determination, intensity, and passion I do not doubt that we can get over the line and bring the World Cup home for the first time after 2007,” Harbhajan Singh said about India’s T20 World Cup campaign on Disney+ Hotstar.
Notably, the Indian cricket team hasn’t won an ICC trophy in more than a decade, but they are quite close to breaking the drought in the T20 World Cup 2024.
